Current Cartography and Cadastre Bureau acting director, Cheong Sio Kei, has been appointed the top job in the Environmental Protection Bureau which will be set up on June 29.
The Office for the Secretary for Transport and Public Works yesterday gazetted a dispatch extracted from the June 16 Chief Executive Dispatch which appointed the three principal officials for the new bureau.
Science and Technology Committee's secretary-general Vai Hoi Ieong and Environmental Protection Committee's executive council acting president Vong Man Hung will become the deputy directors of the bureau.
However, the dispatch did not mention who will succeed Cheong Sio Kei at the Cartography and Cadastre Bureau.
Meanwhile, the Secretary for Transport and Public Works also appointed the other executive officers.
Ip Kuong Lam, Fong Weng Chin and Ieong Kin Si will be respectively leading the departments of environmental pollution control, environmental planning assessment and also environmental education, promotion and cooperation.
Chan Kuok Ho, Lei Sio Iong and Un In Lin on the other hand are going to take up the jobs respectively as the director of the environmental infrastructure management centre, chief financial officer and the chief of the environmental publicity and education division.
The appointment will come into effect on June 29, 2009 for a one-year term.
