A 58-year-old Hong Kong tourist who was reported vomiting in Sands Casino yesterday afternoon was declared dead about an hour after being sent to the hospital.
The Judiciary Police (PJ) said the initial interrogation showed no involvement of foul play.
According to the Public Security Police, the casino staff called the fire brigade for assistance at around 16:00 pm when the man, surnamed Lam, was sighted vomiting.
When rescue arrived the Hongkonger was "continuously throwing up", the PSP spokesman said, adding he was sent immediately to the Conde de São Januário Central Hospital but was confirmed dead shortly at 17.40 pm.
The PJ spokesman said the Hongkonger was gambling when he felt sick.
However, the cause of death was not yet certain before an autopsy was conducted, the PJ added.
Investigations will continue and his family will be contacted to check whether the man had a medical history, police said.
The 58-year-old arrived in Macau on October 5.
