Universal Yoga wanting to clear its name PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 17 June 2008

Fitness centre, Universal Yoga, is trying to clear its name by clarifying some “misleading” information and complaints that the Consumer Council brought forward against the centre last month.
Contrary to what the complaints the Consumer Council brought forward last month, Universal Yoga said yesterday at a press conference, that the centre had “in fact” received complaints from “a few” of its members. However these complaints were related to the “delays in finishing outstanding construction issues which in turn caused discontent with a few of our members.”
gConsidering the importance of the matter, Universal Yoga sent out letters to our members on three different occasions offering our sincerest apologies backed by full explanations,” a spokesperson for Universal Yoga said, adding “We also had a meeting with the Consumer Council to explain the reasons for construction delays letting them know that we were keeping our members well informed, and that the only reason for the delay had to do with issues with the Lands and Public Works Bureau (DSSOPT) licensing procedure.”
According to the same spokesperson, members have only started paying monthly fees on Sunday, June 15.
gPayment received in advance during our pre-sale period [from members] have only started counting on June 15.  For those who have attended classes and enjoyed the facilities from April 15 in the provisional facilities and from May 27 in the [current] centre until June 15, have done so ‘free of charge’,” the spokesperson said, adding that “Universal Yoga has been and will always be committed to providing the best service and facilities to our members.”
