| The Wallabies believe they have found a chink in the mighty All Blacks they can exploit in their Tri-Nations rugby Test in Melbourne today. Luke McAlister has been thrust into the hot seat in a New Zealand backline reshuffle after yesterday's withdrawal of fullback Leon MacDonald with a groin injury at training. Mils Muliaina shifts to fullback with ball-playing Aaron Mauger promoted off the reserves' bench to inside-centre and McAlister moving to an unaccustomed outside-centre. Wallabies' captain and outside-centre Stirling Mortlock identified it as a potential defensive weakness in the New Zealand backline, much which he helped exploit in Australia's shock 2003 World Cup semi-final defeat of the Kiwis.

Firefighters battle blaze outside Greek capital |

| Hundreds of firefighters and troops yesterday battled a forest fire on a mountain overlooking Athens, but lighter winds during the night had eased their task and homes were no longer threatened, authorities said. "It is better, the wind has dropped, we are more optimistic than yesterday," a fire department spokeswoman said. However, she said flames returned Friday morning at one site west of Mount Parnita, some 30 kilometres (20 miles) north of the Greek capital. "We have successfully handled a difficult task," Public Order Minister Vyron Polydoras said following an emergency cabinet called by Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis. But "the fight continues," he added.

First fashion week kicks off in Macau |

| The first ever Macau Apparel Week began yesterday with a local designers displaying their most recent and creative garments on the catwalk. Macau Designers’ Fashion Parade opened the first of five fashion shows to go down the catwalk during the three-day event. Local designers Chris Chan, Stella Tang, Ng Seong Im, Wanda Sousa,Venessa Cheah, Wang Cheng Wu, Yoko Chan, Anne Chou opened the show with vibrant colors that sparked everyone’s attention. Night gowns, wedding gowns, uniforms, casual wear, and creative garments were just some of the works these young designers displayed on the catwalk yesterday.

Asian Olympic media committee meets in Macau |

| The Media Committee of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) gathered in Macau for the first time last week as part of the Asian Indoor Games Chef-de-Mission Meeting. The meeting, chaired by Macau's Mr Sport, Manuel Silverio, this time wearing that hat of committee president, covered the arrangements of media services and broadcasting for the upcoming indoor games. OCA Director General and Technical Director Husain Al Musallam said he aimed to increase the communication between the committee and the media while tightening the news release procedures.

CE attends commemorations for HKSAR 10th anniversary |

The Chief Executive Edmund Ho Hau Wah, will visit Hong Kong today to attend the 10th anniversary celebrations of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. On his arrival, Mr Ho is scheduled to attend a welcome banquet hosted by the HKSAR Government for President Hu Jintao and a cultural performance. He is scheduled to return to Macau on Sunday after attending the swearing-in ceremony of the third-term government of HKSAR. Secretary for Economy and Finance Francis Tam Pak Yuen, will be Acting Chief Executive while Mr Ho is away. |
