The prize distribution ceremony for the "Safe Driving Awards Program" and the Photo Competition "Being Respectful is Living in Safety", a joint initiative by the Public Security Police Force (CPSP), Traffic Affairs Bureau (DSAT), Legal Affairs Bureau (DSAJ) and the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau (IACM), took place yesterday at the Macau Tourism Business Centre, at the Senado Square. At the same time, the opening ceremony for the photo competition entitled “Being Respectful is Living in Safety” also took place. The exhibition is open to the public until March 17. In order to raise locals' awareness on road traffic laws and road safety, the CPSP, DSAT, DSAJ and IACM last year organised the “Safe Driving Awards Program", which included about 9,000 candidates. Through traffic records, authorities verified that 3,400 vehicles registered under the participants name did not have any traffic violations during the year, thus meeting the necessary requirements to be awarded. The first prize went to Sao Kam Man, the second prizes were awarded to Cheng Leong Sok, Kim Loi and Ieng Ieong Sok Fan, while Wong Sok I, the Kin Meng, Mok Kun Pou, Sam Chi Kam and Lai Iok In, received the third prize. In order to raise awareness regarding the importance of road safety and to promote good driving habits, DSAT, CPSP and the Photographic Association of Macau in November 2008 organised the Photo Competition "Being Respectful is Living in Safety" which saw more than 200 works submitted. However, only three were chosen by the jury who awarded Lao Cheng Han, Lok Wai Keong and Lam Sao Wa with the first, second and third places, respectively. |
