Wednesday, 13 August 2008

The Asian Poker Tour (APT) announced on Friday that the “godfather” of Poker, Doyle Brunson, will be attending the APT's Macau tournament.
Brunson, the biggest name in the history of poker, has confirmed he will be playing at the APT Macau Main Event at the Galaxy StarWorld Hotel and Casino starting on August 27. He will be joined by his son, Todd Brunson, who is also a big-name player in the poker world.
The participation of the Brunsons further raises the standing of the Asian Poker Tour which also features other top professionals such as J.C. Tran, Nam Le, Quinn Do, APT Philippines champion David Saab and hundreds of other poker players from around the world, organisers said in a statement.
Aside from playing in the main event at APT Macau, Doyle will also be on hand for a special event of his own - a book signing.
According to the statement, his books are considered the “most authoritative” sources on playing and winning at poker. Fans and players will be able to meet him and get their copies personally signed at APT Macau.
Doyle Brunson is a legendary American poker player who has played professionally for over fifty years. His live tournament winnings at present exceed 5.3 million US dollars.
His son Todd is also a professional poker player, and his live tournament winnings presently exceed 3.2 million US dollars.
APT Macau, the second leg of the 2008 Asian Poker Tour, will be held at the Galaxy StarWorld Hotel and Casino in Asia's gambling mecca from August 27 to 31.
